Have you ever heard of “decoden whip”? It’s an amazing whipped glue that looks just like piped frosting, dries hard for a mess-free finish, and creates a wonderfully fun effect for a variety of unique and imaginative crafts.

We found whipped glue just in time to use it on our darling DIY decoden unicorn ornaments. The frosting effect was so convincing, we just had to try it on a classic holiday favorite…gingerbread houses

If you’ve ever tried making a real gingerbread house with royal icing, you know it can be a messy, tedious and intimidating process.

This whipped glue decoden version provides ALL of the beauty and fun without the worry of slow-drying icing, caved-in walls and frosting-covered finger marks.

The fun part is we used REAL sprinkles like in this paper gingerbread house to mimic a real gingerbread house! Of course you can use anything else that sparkles like sequins, glitter, plastic gems and pom poms. We just happened to have a stash of sprinkles in our baking cupboards to use up.

We’ve also made this craft super simple with our free printable cardboard house template. These mini gingerbread cardboard houses are wonderful for a classroom activity, playdate or winter afternoon crafting with the kids.

You can also attach a ribbon and turn them into darling handmade Christmas ornaments
