The paper accordion is a fun addition for kids to see the bear spring up and down. It’s like a homemade 3D card that is certain to bring a smile to their face.

3D Valentine's Day card

As you can see from the image below, the fun spring accordion underneath the bear is what gives it that 3D look and feel. It’s a fun surprise for the person receiving the card, for sure! This way they get a cute little surprise and fun element to this simple and adorable homemade Valentine’s card.

Depending on how “springy” the card is, the bear part might stick out a little more than others if you make more than one of this card.

The purpose of having the springy bear as a part of the card is to make certain that it’s a fun surprise element. Situate the teddy bear cutout right on top of the “spring” so that it’s hidden until it’s handed over to them to enjoy.

What is my paper under the bear template doesn’t spring up enough?

If you’re noticing that your paper isn’t springing up enough, you might need to redo it and have it scrunched and folded even more. The smaller you can fold it, the more “spring” that it should have.

How to make a Valentine Bear Card

Luckily you only need a handful of fun materials to make this simple Valentine’s Day Card. As you can see below, you probably already have a lot of these at home in your crafting room.

Can I change up how this Valentine Bear Card looks?

As with any craft, you can easily make this Valentine card unique! Simply choose a different color cardstock paper for the background or change out the color of the bear. While it’s true that most bears should be brown and always tend to be, who says that they can’t be a different fun color as well?

Having a red or pink bear for Valentine’s Day sounds like a fun idea to me!
