Variations on Rainbow Art

  1. Add glitter: Make your rainbow quote art sparkle and shine by adding some glitter to it. You can use glue or glitter pens to add a little extra pizzazz. Note you’ll want to do this after the paint has fully dried.
  2. Use strong accent marker pens to add shadows on the fonts.
  3. Create mixed media mosaic look by adding strips of cut paper, around the art.
  4. Add other decorations: If you want to make your rainbow quote art even more colorful, you can add other decorations like stickers or washi tape, or even small paper cutouts of things you love, like flowers or animals.

Materials

  • Paint in rainbow colors (we used acrylic paint)
  • Cardstock
  • Printer
  • Squeegee or you an use cardboard as a scraper
  • Newspaper or paint drop cloth
  • Our Printable rainbow quotes

Instructions

  1. Print the quote pages out - we recommend using a thick cardstock paper so the paint won't weigh down the paper.
  2. Add drops of paint in rainbow colors over the cardstock (we recommend acrylic paint, but tempera, or washable paints will work just fine.
  3. Lay the cardstock over newspaper, a paint drop cloth, or anything that can catch paint drips.
  4. Using a squeegee (or a flat piece of cardboard that covers the width of the page) slowly scrape downwards. As you do the paint drops will come down to reveal a beautiful rainbow pattern
    over the quote!
  5. Let the cardstock dry and then you can frame it for a fun rainbow print!

For a fun variation, use different colored paints to create endless color combinations.
