So much of the magic of holiday season depends on believing in traditions that stretch the imagination. Santa Claus, flying reindeer, Frosty the snowman, gingerbread men. 

All these wondrous character invite us to suspend logic and give in to the wonder of the holiday season.

For a unique and magical twist, we crafted up a little magic of our own with these DIY unicorn, mermaid and dinosaur photo ornaments! 

We all know a little unicorn, mermaid or dinosaur lover right? 

Not only do they add to the fantasy of the holidays, they make adorable DIY photo keepsakes.

Because time is so very precious this time of year, we’ve included printable templates you can download to make this holiday craft easy as pumpkin pie!

DIY UNICORN MERMAID AND DINOSAUR PHOTO ORNAMENTS – MATERIALS:

• Cardstock in your colors of choice (we used a variety of greens, pinks and blues and used glitter cardstock for a touch of sparkle)
• Scissors,
• Glue
• Ribbon
• Printable Template
• Photo (a face photo is great and you can just print it out using cardstock or photo paper like we did)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Print out the Unicorn, Mermaid, and Dinosaur ornament templates.

Step 2. Cut out the parts.

Step 3. Use the cut-outs as templates to trace on colored or glitter paper of your choice.

Step 4. Glue the colored paper parts together to form your ornament.

Step 5. Print out a photo, cut it to size the opening in your ornament hole. Glue to the ornament.

Step 6. Cut out ribbon and glue to the back of your ornament.

Hang up on your Christmas Tree for an adorable photo ornament keepsake!
