Your baby’s first painting is a masterpiece keepsake to cherish. So to get your started on the painting fun earlier, here is a great Baby Mess Free Bubble Wrap Painting activity that results in a beautiful print!

Why mess free? We’re all about sensory fun but at this age, babies tend to put everything in their mouths. This activity keeps the paint covered up and gives babies experience in smooshing paint around to feel what they are doing.

The bubble wrap leads to a cool print if you press a new piece of paper on top so you have TWO masterpieces at the end.

You can also do this on a cardboard easel as another mess free baby painting idea.

BABY MESS FREE BUBBLE WRAP PAINTING- MATERIALS:

  • A hard surface like a high chair is great or kid friendly table
  • Paper (we like watercolor paper cut to size)
  • Paint (we used acrylic paints, any type is fine)
  • Piece of bubble wrap can cover your paper.
  • Masking tape

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1. Place a piece of paper down your hard surface.

Step 2. Splatter paint over the paper.

Step 3. Tape a piece of bubble wrap covering your paper (bubble side down so it touches the paint).

Step 4. Have your baby smoosh and squish the paint around.

Step 5. Slowly remove the bubble wrap. The first print is the one underneath. They look like artistic blobs.

Step 6. Lay the bubble wrap paint up and add another piece of clean paper on top and do it a few times until it’s covered. This is your second bubble wrap print!

Baby did so well and had fun! You will love hanging up baby’s first artwork and sharing it with anyone  and everyone! Turn them into prints and mementos for the grandparents!
