Rain, rain go away so we can make this adorable Rainbow Paper Umbrella craft! We’ve been having lots of rain lately and so I thought it would be a great excuse to craft up this cute paper umbrella in all the colors of the rainbow. This colorful craft brings a splash of color to even the grayest of days. This is a project your kiddos are going to adore, and it’s perfect for those indoor afternoons when a hint of imaginative play is just what the day calls for.

You don’t need to be a seasoned crafter to whip up this cute umbrella craft. And the best part? You probably already have most of the materials right in your home. The Rainbow Paper Umbrella is the perfect craft to spark creativity and teach your little ones about colors and fine motor skills while creating something beautiful together.

How do you make a paper umbrella craft?

You’ll need paper in all colors of the rainbow cut into circles. By folding them you can create a really cool 3D-looking paper umbrella! Curling a piece of black paper turns neatly into a handle. Adding paper raindrops is an added touch but super fun to watch swirl around after you create your umbrella!

  • Stick and hot glue gun
  • Scissors

  • Blue paper for the raindrops

Rainbow Paper Umbrella Craft
This colorful rainbow paper umbrella craft is great for a rainy indoor project and to teach your kids colors!

Materials

  • Cardstock paper in all colors of the rainbow
  • Black paper for the handle
  • Stick and hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Blue paper for the raindrops

Instructions

  1. Cut your colored paper into circles, you can make them as large as you want your umbrella. Ours were roughly 6cm in diameter.
  2. Fold each circle in half then add stick glue on one side and fold into quarters.
  3. Add your quartered circles on top of each other, gluing down each one.
  4. Unfold them into forming half the umbrella.
  5. Roll a black piece of paper into a handle (curling the ends) and hot glue in the center of your umbrella.
  6. Then you can unfold the rest of the umbrella and glue the two ends together.
  7. Cut small pieces of sting and paper raindrops. Add a drop of glue to connect them and then glue them on to your umbrella.
