This gorgeous DIY Paper Heart garland is the easiest heart craft! Check out the nifty trick to make endless loops of paper hearts!
It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without some heart crafts! We love this simple DIY Paper Heart Garland because you don’t need a lot of materials to make it and it’s an easy Valentine’s Day craft you can make on the fly with the kids! Similar to our paper heart garland, you just join paper strips together and form a heart shape. We made ours red and pink to celebrate love but you can make it any color! Of course we love a good rainbow heart craft too!
What do you need to make a Paper Heart Garland?
You will need regular cardstock or construction paper cut into even strips. We cut ours into 20cm x 2 cm strips. You can measure and pencil out the strips on your paper first with a ruler and then cut. A paper cutter helps but is not necessary and scissors will work just fine!
Other than paper, stapler, and scissors those are all the materials you need which is why we love this simple Valentine Craft!
You’ll first join two strips together on the bottom with a stapler and create a heart shaped loop, then staple the next two paper strips at the bottom to start your chain. You can make your garland as long as you want!
What can you do with your paper hearts?
These paper hearts are a super simple and festive way to celebrate Valentine’s day in your home! Hang them up in the play space or kids room or anywhere you need some to show love is in the air!
It would be awesome to also make and package up to send someone some extra special love on Valentine’s Day!
DIY Paper Heart Garland – Materials:
- Red and Pink cardstock or construction paper
- Scissor or paper cutter
- Stapler
- Pencil
- Ruler

1. Use a pencil to draw strips on your paper lengthwise that measure 20cm x 2 cm. Cut strips. 2. Join two same colored strips at the bottom and staple. 3. Attach two more same colored strips to the same joint and staple. 4. Take two of the strips and make a heart shape and staple shut. You have your first heart. 5.
