How do you make flower pressed eggs?

The method is very simple to decoupage.  Simply use Mod Podge to adhere your pressed flowers onto white wooden eggs? You will need to let the eggs fully dry before handling.

What is Mod Podge?

Mod Podge type of crafting glue that is commonly used for decoupage projects. It is a water-based sealer, glue, and finish that can be used to adhere paper, fabric, and other porous materials to a variety of surfaces. Mod Podge comes in glossy, matte, and satin finishes and can be used in many creative projects like adhering to wood.

We used matte finish for our eggs but you can use gloss if you want a shiny finish. A nice thing about Mod Podget is that it dries “clear.” it’s not 100% translucent but if adhering on a white item like our eggs, you will not see any residue at all when the flowers are dried.

What is decoupage?

Decoupage is a decorative technique that involves layering cut-out paper or fabric pieces onto a surface, such as wood or glass, and then sealing them in place with a clear varnish or glue. This creates a textured and visually appealing design on the object. In our case we used Mod Podge and pressed flowers on eggs.

Where can you get pressed flowers?

You get pressed flowers the old-fashioned way by pressing fresh flowers between books or using a flower press. However, that takes a lot of time and many varieties of flowers.

You can also buy pressed flowers online as we did. This is an affordable way to get vibrant shades and varieties of pressed flowers for a fraction of the time and cost to press fresh ones.

Can I use fresh eggs?

We used white wooden eggs because they will last almost forever, and can be added to Easter baskets and other decorative areas without the fear of breaking.

However, since fresh eggs are porous, you can blow them out and continue with the same decorating steps Just keep in mind they will be very fragile!
