THESE RELIEF BOXES ACT AS GAMES AND TOYS FOR CHILDREN

When children and families in disaster areas receive aid in the form of relief boxes, the food and medicine that comes is a welcomed sight. Meeting families basic needs is imperative, but of course, children are also missing the fun and comfort that comes with toys and entertainment. Some of these families may have lost everything due to natural disasters like earthquakes or hurricanes.

They may be in areas affected by violence. However, resources are focused on bringing important medical and sustenance needs to families. There’s often not room for toys and games. That’s why Lisanne Koning has created Inside the Box, printable cutouts on the inside of relief boxes that allow children to find calm and normalcy through play. Three-dimensional trucks, board games, and more toys are available for kids to enjoy. It’s just a small way to help kids undergoing disasters feel like they have a piece of home with them.
