MAKE YARN WRAPPED ORNAMENTS

Here’s a pretty and easy way to dress up ornaments. Kids will have fun wrapping the yarn around and there are endless options for colorful yarns to display. These also make festive holiday decorations in a bowl to place on your table or mantle.

Easy Yarn Wrapped Ornaments – Materials:

– small clear glass ornaments

– pretty yarn and/or rustic twine

– clear gel glue (we used this)

Instructions:

Step 1. Start by applying several circular lines of glue around the top of the ornament and wrap your yarn around the glue. When you’re halfway done, it helps to flip the ornament ball and continue applying glue around.

As you’re gluing, push the yarn threads together so they’re tight around the ball and there are no gaps showing. Also, use your hands and cup them around the ornament to make sure the yarn is adhering tightly.

When you get to the bottom of the ball, it can get tricky to glue in a circle so you can cut off the yarn with enough length to glue in more of a zig zag pattern to finish it off.

We went for a simple and rustic look by combining silver and blue shimmery yarn with twine. You can hang them on the tree or display them in a bowl for a pretty holiday decoration.
