COLORFUL WATERCOLOR SEAHORSE ART FOR KIDS

My kids love ocean creatures and especially seahorses. They say Narwhals are the ‘unicorns of the sea’ but we think seahorses are just as magical!

We were inspired to create this vibrant watercolor seahorse with cupcake liners from this version we saw on Pinterest.

Of course we had to put our colorful twist on it! We used liquid watercolors which we love for their vibrant colors. We also created a free template so you can use it to make your own. Get the free template below.

Colorful Seahorse Art – Materials:

Liquid watercolors
Watercolor paper
– Scissors
– Droppers or pipettes
– Paint brushes
– Black marker
– Colorful cupcake liners
– Glue

Instructions:
(watch the video above for the step by step or follow along)

Step 1. print out your free seahorse template. Cut it out and trace around watercolor paper.

Step 2. Paint with liquid watercolors using droppers and paintbrushes to spread your colors around.

Step 3. Cut out your seahorse after the paint is dry.

Step 4. For the cupcake liner tail, flatten each liner into a semicircle and again. Glue 3-4 along the edge of the seahorse. Repeat and glue on the back of the first layer of liners.

Play with your beautiful seahorse!
