DIY DINOSAUR TERRARIUMS: RAW-TASTIC FATHER’S DAY GIFT KIDS CAN MAKE

We’re in full planting season over here and the kids have been having fun coming up with creative planter ideas. These adorable dinosaur terrariums are easy for little ones to make. And with Father’s Day right around the corner, we decided to add a cute kid-made flag wishing dad a “Raw-tastic Father’s Day.”

DIY Dinosaur Terrariums – Materials:

– Small jars

– Tiny succulents (we got ours at our local nursery, you can find these in many gardening home centers)

– Soil

Moss

Pebbles

– Small toy dinosaurs

To make the Father’s Day Flag:

– Cardstock or thick paper like watercolor paper

– Markers

– Tape

– Stick (popsicle sticks would work too)

Instructions:

Lay out your supplies in small and medium bowls so it’s easy for kids to scoop.

Step 1. Fill your glass jar with some soil and add your succulent. Add more soil to cover the top and pat down.

Step 2. Add moss around the top of the soil.

Step 3. Add pebbles on top of the moss.

Step 4. Arrange some small dinosaurs on top of the pebbles. You’re done!

Add some larger dinosaur friends to join in the fun.

To make the flag for Father’s Day, simply cut out a large triangle from your cardstock and have your child decorate and draw “Have a Raw-Tastic Father’s Day!” on it. Then use tape to affix to your stick and add to your terrarium.

And here you go, a cute kid-made Father’s Day gift. Or adorable planting idea to get kids excited about spring and summer.
