Watermelon Paper Fan – Materials

Red construction paper (15 x 30 cm)

White strip (0.6 x 30 cm)

Green strip (1.5 x 30 cm)

String or thread

INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Build Your Watermelon Slice
Glue the white strip along one long edge of the red paper, followed by the green strip on top of the white — this creates the classic watermelon rind look.
Step 2: Add the Seeds
Use a black marker to draw oval-shaped seeds all over the red section.
Step 3: Accordion Fold
Starting from one short edge, fold the entire paper like an accordion, making each fold about 1-1.5 cm wide.
Step 4: Tie the Center
Once folded, pinch the paper in the middle and tie it with string. Make sure it’s nice and tight so the fan holds its shape.
Step 5: Fan It Out
