Toys “R” Us will soon be in every US Macy’s in the next few months, part of a developed collaboration with the toy retailer’s parent company. The toy stores will vary from 1,000 square feet in smaller locations to 10,000 square feet in larger locations.
The Toys “R” Us footprints may develop during the prime holiday season. This is just one of the many ways that the brand is making a comeback.
When to Expect It
Starting in late July, Macy’s will bring back the Toys “R” Us experience with shops-within-shops at 400 stores. This move comes after the store went bankrupt and closed all its stores in 2018.
Toys “R” Us got a new lease last year from Macy’s partnership when the two companies decided to vend toys on Macy’s website and opened stores at 400 branch stores.
Because of this, kids will soon be able to enjoy their unique toys once again!
Macy’s Plans for Production
Macy’s plans some customer-friendly perks for the revived toy store, such as demonstration tables for new toys and a life-size Geoffrey giraffe picture opp.
Macy’s recent partnership with Toys “R” Us has been a turning point for the company, with toy sales increasing 15-fold in the first quarter since the deal.
This is a much-needed shot in the arm for Macy’s, struggling recently due to shifting consumer habits and competition from big-box retailers.
The partnership is a win for Toys “R” Us, which was forced to liquidate its brand last year after failing to find a buyer, which came as a big blow to fans of the franchise.
With consumers spending more time at home than ever before, there is potential for the partnership to continue to thrive in the months and years to come.
