Turn the number 2 into a cute swan in just four easy steps! This simple drawing tutorial is perfect for kids and beginners who love to draw!

Learning how to draw a swan is a fun and calming activity for kids and beginners. Swans are elegant birds, but the good news is they can be drawn using a very simple shape. In this easy tutorial, we’ll show you how to turn the number 2 into a beautiful swan in just a few steps. This drawing activity is perfect for kids, classrooms, or a quiet afternoon at home.

How to Draw a Swan – materials:

  • Paper
  • black marker or pencil
  • optional crayons, colored pencils, or markers for coloring.

Step 1: Draw the Number 2

Start by writing a large number 2 in the center of your paper. This will become the swan’s head and neck, so don’t worry about making it perfect. A slightly curved or playful 2 works great.

Step 2: Add the Swan’s Body

From the bottom of the 2, draw a curved line outward and around to form the swan’s body. Bring the line back toward the base of the neck so it looks like the swan is sitting on water.

Step 3: Draw the Wing

Inside the body, add a curved wing shape. You can make it simple with one curved line or add a few feather-like bumps for extra detail.

Step 4: Add the Beak and Eye

At the top curve of the 2, draw a small pointed beak. Then add a tiny curved line or dot for the eye to give your swan a gentle expression. Draw a wavy line under the swan to show water. You can also thicken your lines, erase pencil marks, or add extra feather details if you’d like.

Swans are usually white, but kids can get creative. Try light gray shading for feathers, blue water underneath, and a pop of orange or yellow for the beak.
