What is cuter than an emoji? An emoji costume of course! Send your cute kids off trick or treating with this adorable costume that is guaranteed to win grins, smiles and hearts.

DIY Cardboard Emoji Costume - Materials:

- Cardboard
- Yellow spray paint
- Paint (we used acrylic in white, black and red); paint brushes
- Pencil
- String
- Clear coating spray (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1. Cut out a circle from your cardboard. You can do this easily by taping a piece of string to the center of your cardboard and attach a pencil to the end of the string to draw a circle which you can then cut out.

Step 2. Spray paint your circle yellow (you can opt to use yellow paint too but we went the spray paint route). Give it several coats of even spray paint, allowing to dry between coats.

Step 3. Look up your favorite emojis and hand draw features with a pencil on your cardboard faces. Paint in the details using various sized paint brushes. Smaller ones for details and larger ones for bigger features. If you stick to simple emojis like we did, this step actually goes by quickly! Once the paint has dried, you can spray a protective clear finish to make sure the paint doesn't flake off.

Step 4. Punch two holes and thread a piece of string through. You're done!

These cardboard emoji costumes are easy and inexpensive to create and also make great family costumes!
