DIY GOOD JOB MERIT BADGES FOR KIDS

Your kids have done a good job all year long so why not reward them with these “Good Job” merit badges to celebrate the new year? In fact why not hand them out for any good deed done all year long? They’re easy to personalize and are a fun way to reward kids for a job well done.

“Good Job” Merit Badges – Instructions:

Felt in various colors
Colored paper
– Star cutter
– Hot glue
Pin backs
– Scissors

Optional:
– Cardstock
– Markers

Instructions:

Step 1. Find two circle shapes, one larger than the other. Trace out felt circles. Cut out two ribbons for each medal in coordinating felt from the smaller circle. Star punch colored cardstock. If you don’t have a star punch, you can find a star shape online, size it down and print to use as a template.

Step 2. Hot glue the pieces together as shown below then hot glue a pin back to the back of each medal.

Step 3. As a final celebratory step, you can pin these to white cardstock and write a fun “good job” type of message on them to hand out!

Aren’t these fun? They can also be easily made by older kids. My 6 year old daughter had a blast helping me trace, cut out circles and come up with fun quotes to put on the cards.

They are great for celebrating all the good deeds done the past year and for handing them out for good ones to come in the new year!
