Turn apples into cute apple art prints by adding paint to apples and stamping them on paper for a fun fall craft for kids!
If you’re looking for a fun and easy fall project, apple stamping is the perfect craft. With just a half apple (we recommend an old one to not waste!), some paint, and paper, you can turn everyday fruit into a beautiful piece of art.
Kids will love seeing how the apple prints turn into shapes that resemble – you guessed it – apples! This is also a wonderful seasonal craft for fall, apple-picking season, or even back-to-school activities. Teachers often use this project in classrooms, but it’s just as fun to do at home.
Apple Stamping – Materials:
-
Half of a fresh apple (any variety works)
-
Washable paint (we used red and orange acrylic paint)
-
A paper plate or palette
-
Paintbrush (spreading paint evenly)
-
White cardstock or construction paper
Instructions
-
Prep the Apples: Slice the apple in half vertically. Pat the cut side with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
-
Add the Paint: Squeeze paint onto a paper plate or palette. If using more than one shade like we did, blend for a two-tone effect. Use a brush to coat the apple evenly or stamp the apple directly.
-
Stamp the Apple: Press the painted side firmly onto your paper. Lift straight up to reveal an apple-shaped print.
-
Repeat the Fun: Keep stamping until you have a full page of apple prints. Try mixing colors for a creative twist.
-
Add Details: Once dry, use a black marker to draw in seeds and stems. Suddenly, those red blobs transform into bright, cheerful apples!
