1. Cut the Paper Strips
Start by tracing and cutting white paper into strips. You’ll need 58 strips total to make all the skeleton’s body parts.

2. Make Paper Rings
Take one paper strip and loop it into a ring, securing it with glue or tape. Continue linking each new strip through the previous ring before gluing to form a paper chain.  These linked chains will give your skeleton its flexible, bendy body. Follow our photos and video in this post as a guide. You can of course, make your skeleton smaller, but these feet, hands, and head are sized for these paper strips.

3. Create the Skeleton’s Head
Print the skeleton head template and color in the eyes, nose, and mouth with a black marker. Cut it out and glue it onto the top of your paper chain to form the head.

4. Add Hands and Feet
Trace the hand and foot templates from the printable onto white paper and cut them out. Glue one hand to the end of each arm chain and one foot to the end of each leg chain.

5. Assemble the Skeleton
Attach all the chains together by gluing the arms and legs to the body chain, then attach the head on top. Now your skeleton is ready to dance! You can also draw fun little Halloween doodles like spiders, cobwebs, or stitches on the rings to decorate.

Tips

Use construction paper for a sturdier skeleton. Hang your skeleton on a wall or door for Halloween decoration. Try making a mini skeleton by cutting shorter strips!
