Kapla blocks are sort of like blocks for purists and are refreshing in that sense. They’re wooden blocks made from pine, and don’t specifically attach to each other in any way. Layering blocks on each other, along with natural gravity and balance are the things that make building with them fun. In a lot of ways, this is creative free play at its core.
Kapla blocks are available in several sizes, ranging anywhere from 40 piece kits to a truly massive 1000 piece kit. I can see many parents, myself included, getting hands-on with their kids making some pretty cool structures out of these simple, yet engaging blocks.
