MAKE MODERN CARDBOARD EASTER EGGS


Here a super simple way to decorate Easter eggs with the kids and teach them a bit about colors and patterns! See how we made these bold and colorful modern eggs from just paint and cardboard.

Modern Cardboard Easter Eggs – Materials:

– Cardboard

– Scissors or exacto knife

Craft paint (white and various colors)

– Paint brush or foam brushes

– Removable tape like washi tape

Instructions:

Step 1. You’ll want an egg template. We did a search for one online and just adjusted the size we wanted. Print it out an use that as a template to cut out your cardboard eggs.

Step 2. Paint your cardboard eggs white so the colors will show vibrantly when you paint them on. We gave our eggs 2-3 coatings of white paint.

Step 3. Use your tape to make patterns to color block your eggs. Remove tape when the paint is dried to reveal the patterns. This is a great time to talk to your kids about color mixing and combinations.

You can also make dots like we did using a pencil eraser.

When the paint is dried on your cardboard eggs, remove the tape carefully and admire your painted eggs!

The kids and I were impressed with the bold patterns and colors. We hung them up on the wall for a pretty and modern Easter room decoration. You could even punch holes to string yarn through and make a colorful garland.
