My kids love blowing bubbles and we love thinking of new ways to blow them like this DIY recycled bottle bubble blower!

We also like making our own solution – it’s so easy with just a couple of kitchen ingredients!

Making your own blowers from pipe cleaners or socks like this bubble snake is just as easy.

We decided to put a twist on the bottle snake version by using a mesh fruit bag. The whole blower becomes a fun recycled project. Talk about turning trash to treasure! At least from a kid’s perspective.

We took this concept and created AMAZING watercolor bubble art prints a couple of summers ago as a fun collaborative project.

The possibilities to create and play with this easy recycled bubble blower are endless!

Find out how to make this clever and easy recycled bottle bubble blower to make amazing LARGE bubbles!

If you scroll all the way down below the post, you’ll see we improvised this simple bottle bubble blower to see how it  would work on a large 2 liter plastic bottles. To our amazement it did and created even more gigantic bubbles!

The kids had a blast seeing if they could connect their huge bottles together!

What kind of bottle and mesh bag do I need?

You can use any kind of plastic bottle! A round one of course makes it easier to blow out bubbles. We used a fruit mesh bag that comes in grocery stores and typically holds oranges, lemons or limes. It would be fun to experiment with other bags with holes!

Recycled Bottle Bubble Blower – Materials:

– Homemade Bubbles (this is our favorite bubble solution using glycerin, water and dishwashing soap)

– Plastic Bottle

– Scissors

– Piece of mesh fruit bag (the kind that holds fruit like oranges) cut into a section wide enough to fit over your bottle

Remember to blow OUT and not in. If you want to prevent any accidental blowing in, you can simply ask your kids to blow without their lips actually touching the bottle opening. It works just as well. Check out our video up above to see it in action.
