RAINBOW SCRAPE PAINTING ART WITH VIDEO

Have you been following our book, My Color Is Rainbow hashtag on Instagram #MyColorIsRainbow? I’m blown away by all the creative and colorful projects our book is inspiring!

We created this colorful Rainbow Scrape Painting inspired by our friend Mie from @mielaerkerasmussen who kindly let us share her idea.

Watch the video above to see how easy it is to set up this fun project and read below for more details on how you can add some variation to your gorgeous rainbow scrape art!

Rainbow Scrape Art Painting – Materials:

Watercolor paper
– Paints in rainbow colors (we used Tempera paint)
– Scraper like a piece of cardstock or a ruler

Instructions:

Add dots in a line in rainbow order, Carefully scrape across to create a rainbow pattern!

You can add variety by trying to make an arch and seeing how the colors blend.

Isn’t the process cool? You can do this multiple times over a large canvas or paper to create lots of rainbows!

Once your painting is dry, you can try layering art over it like tissue paper confetti, twigs, glue, salt. We were inspired to do this from the Creative Bookish Kids magazine.
