MAKE GLITTER HAIR CLIPS

We had so much fun making glitter star wands that we snuck in another quick new year’s craft. This one’s just as easy and cute. Like the wands, this sparkly project can be dressed up to celebrate new year’s or double as cute party favors kids can make.

Glitter Star Hair Clips – Materials:

– cardboard

glitter

– scissors, cardstock paper, pencil

– strong clear craft glue or hot glue gun

– plain hair clips
– letter stamps and stamp pad (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1. Trace out small stars on cardstock paper and use them as templates to cut out stars on cardboard (you can do a search online for “star template” and print out any size you’d like).

Step 2. Add glue to one side each cardboard star and glitter on the glue. Since these stars were small, it made sense to add glitter to paper, and press the glued end of the star directly on top. Use your fingers spread out the glitter for even coverage.

Step 3. Once you have your glittered stars, add glue to the top of the hair clip and firmly press a star (or two) down. Allow to dry completely. Shake out any excess glitter. You’re done and now have pretty sparkly accessories!

You can show these off as party favors by cutting a piece of card stock into and adding two slits to place each hair pin through. Use letter stamps to write out fun messages.

Since these were made as New Year’s Eve favors, we stamped out celebratory messages, but you can personalize with name or anything you’d like to fit the occasion.

These clips were so much fun for my daughter to make. They’re versatile and pretty too!
