COLORFUL TURKEY PAPER PLATE CRAFT

Turkey season is here and we’re celebrating with this colorful turkey craft that’s also a wonderful exercise in tracing and cutting for kids to practice those fine motor skills.

This would make a cute and simple activity to set up to keep the kids busy at the Thanksgiving table.

Colorful Turkey Paper Plate Craft – Materials:

– Colorful cardstock paper

– Colored paper plates

– Glue or tape

– Scissors, pencil

– Googley Eyes

Instructions:

Step 1. Freehand draw a feather on cardstock and use that as a template to trace and cut multiple colorful feathers from your paper. You can also search for a feather template online and print out as we did.

Step 2. Cut out all the feathers. Arrange them as you’d like on the paper plates. This is a great time to talk to your child about complementary colors.

Step 3. Glue or tape your feathers and googley eyes. You can also cut out a triangle for nose and use red paper to cut out a wattle (the red flap on a turkey).

We love our cute and colorful turkeys and they were so easy to make! What are your favorite turkey crafts for kids? Let us know in the comments!
